Interchange – Spring 2010

On February 12, 2010, nearly three dozen friends enjoyed a delicious potluck and a joyous reunion with our Canadian Friend Nancy Anderson. On February 14, 2010, Friends living at Kendal at Lexington hosted Meeting for Worship in the beautiful guest house on the Kendal campus, Sunnyside House. In addition to most of our regular Maury River attendees, we were happy to welcome four Kendal residents to our Worship. We continue to hold local vigils at the times of state executions.

Our very active Young Friends have created a “chocolate initiative” to encourage carpooling and the use of fuel-efficient means of transportation to Meeting with a drawing each week for chocolate. Those riding bicycles are entitled to enter their names twice. This same group sponsors our yearly simple meal the week before Thanksgiving and a spaghetti dinner/talent show in the spring. All proceeds are donated to a local charity of their choice.
